Garage Insulation upgraded in New Boston, MI
Challenge
We met our customer at the Novi Home Show and he was interested in having new insulation installed in his garage. The customer explained he was losing a lot of heat. The attic of his garage had no insulation so every time the furnace kicked on, which was almost immediately after shutting off in the colder months, all the heat escaped out of the attic. Our customer spent a lot of time in the garage for he has a golf simulator set up for entertainment and wanted a more comfortable area. The biggest concern was the amount of energy lost in the attic. Our solution to propose is to educate how our company can fix and save you money too.
Solution
Our customer went with our company for we could provide a quote right there and with job acceptance and signing that day our company offers a 5% savings plus can schedule production in a timely manner. Our solution given for this home was to air seal the top plate in attic and seal all wire opened penetrations to prevent the heat from escaping into the attic. We also added durovent duel baffles into the soffits for the attic space to breathe properly once insulation has been installed. The next step was to blow in cellulose insulation. Our customer wanted R60 which equals approximately 17". This attic was straight forward for there was no removal of insulation needed. We used Zypfoam polyurethane sealant, durovent baffles and stabilized cellulose insulation. Once job had been completed our homeowner said his garage is ten times more comfortable than before and his heater doesn't turn on all the time. He's is a very happy customer.
