This home suffered from ice damming.  Just about every year when the weather decides to drop super cold then warms up again and this happens several times in our state come January and February.  What happens is ice dam is a build up on the eaves of sloped roofs from heated homes that result from melting snow under a snow pack reaching the eaves and freezing there.  In this home there was a lack of insulation, improper ventilation and lots of heat from living space below making its way into the attic. In order to provide the best care for this home our crew removed all insulation, air sealed all recessed lighting by first adding recessed light fixture cover, then using a ZypFoam polyurethane foam to seal edges and any holes. Air sealed all gaps in floor of attic also. All new durovent duel baffles were installed also removed all bath fan ducts and replaced with insulated duct. Completed this attic with all new TruSoft Cellulose insulation with a level of R60.
