Our customer purchased a new home with home inspection noting a lack of insulation in the attic. Our customer decided to air seal and insulate the scuttle cover and blow in Cellulose Insulation over the top of the batt insulation acting as a new blanket for the attic.
Customer had a home inspection for a sale on his home. Mold was found and he wanted new insulation and the mold cleaned before final inspection. He was happy to sell his home in a timely manner once we were completed.
This attic didn't have enough insulation. Our company topped off the attic with cellulose insulation.
The problem was caused by the attic floor lacking insulation to meet the standards for Michigan's thermal zone. The symptoms of the problem were an 8-10 degree difference from the upstairs to downstairs.
After purchasing their new home our company was called out for his attic had mold and ventilation issues. After remediation and corrective action for ventilation we also air sealed can lights covers, wire and top plate penetrations we blew in all new cellulose insulation.
Our customer was pleased to have a healthy attic for his new families home.
