Our customer called us after her roof replacement due to her roofer stating she had a lack of insulation and maybe why she has ice dams in the winter weather. Once our inspection was completed we also found mold in the attic due to a lack of intake ventilation. The soffit vents were not large enough cause a lack of air flow. We recommended having a continuous perforated soffit vent under the eaves to allow more intake air in the attic space. We also added single wide baffles once we cleaned the mold in the attic. We used Mold X2 and Mold X2 Botanicals to clean the mold. This attic is now breathing properly and ready for new insulation.
Our customer's home went on the market for sale and a buyers inspection flagged possible mold in the attic. Once our inspection was completed we did find mold on the sheathing and trusses of the attic due to the directional airflow being hindered. We cleared all the soffit vents and cleaned the attic space using Mold X2 and Mold X2 Botanical products. Afterwards added all new rafter vent baffles to correct the airflow. The final inspection passed and the buyers were happy we could remediate so quickly.
